Meet Our New Sponsor! 07/12/18
We are over the moon to welcome Pedro Donald from The American Bar as our new sponsor! All the folks at the American Bar have been a great support to Pintsized over the year, allowing us rehearsal and performance space, hosting our fundraisers and our committee meetings. Pedro is a fantastic advocate of the arts and we’re so happy he’s come on board to join the Pintsized family.
“As a long term supporter of the arts scene in Belfast and now being in a position to be able to give something back I am only too happy to do so. Pubs to me are so much more than just places to have a drink, they are places for gigs, sessions, readings, films, exhibitions... and of course theater! “ Pedro Donald
Happy 10th Birthday Pintsized 01/12/18
“Ten years is a very long time for any theatre company in Northern Ireland, especially with the arts cuts being what they are.
Thankfully, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, The Sunflower Bar and The American Bar have stepped in to give Belfast’s Pintsized Productions the backing and the rehearsal space they need to properly celebrate their tenth anniversary as the wet and windy winter nights dawn upon us near the end of an exceptional year in theatre.
“Exceptional”, because as the reality of further budgetary cuts in the arts and culture field has dawned upon us, the necessity of working with what we have has hit home with the arts community in Northern Ireland – and brought out their creativity. December 2018 is more than a month for celebrating ten years of Pintsized – it is a celebration of triumph through adversity.”

Intersections-APAC at the Lyric Theatre 20-21/06/18
“Taking a hard look at borders, real and imagined, how to move beyond them? Looking for sustainability, how to face up to climate change? With public policy shifts, how to influence policy-makers and funders to invest in the arts? With the rise of superstar festivals and international companies, what does the future of production and programming look like? With inequality in our midst, how to shape an equitable culture right across our sector? No question stands alone. They intersect one with the other and in different ways for everyone and every organisation.”
Hosted by Theatre NI and Theatre Forum, this years All Ireland Performing Arts Conference was held at the Lyric Theatre for two days. Our Artistic Director Nuala Donnelly, successfully obtained a bursary from Theatre NI in order to attend the largest gathering of professionals from the performing arts in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Leading local dairy company Dale Farm has partnered with the Grand Opera House and us here at Pintsized Productions to develop a live theatre tour that brings the importance of farm safety to life for primary schoolchildren.
Supported by Arts & Business Northern Ireland, Dale Farm’s ‘Seasons of Safety’ will tour 21 rural primary schools throughout County Antrim in May and is the first project of its kind that the Grand Opera House has taken on tour.
Whilst the three-cast production will be open for all ages of primary schoolchildren to experience, a workshop element will follow each performance aimed at P6 and P7 children, exploring themes and lessons emerging from the play. Schools will also be provided with farm safety resources for teachers to use with their classes in their own time.
